The task of the teacher is not to take from the Salaf (ancestors/ predecessors) and to give it to the Khalaf (descendents/successors), but to build the society.

All India Ideal Teachers Association (AIITA) organised a workshop for members of various committees of AIITA on 22nd and 23rd May 2024 at Ummul Qura Institute of Holy Quran at Wayanad, Kerala. Central and State Officials of :

(1) Education System Study Committee (ESSC)

(2) Issue Addressing Committee (IAC)

(3) Media Committee

participated in this workshop.

On the first day (22nd May 2024), the Workshop started with the Tazkeer Bil Qur’an by Mr. Hafeez Nadvi.

Mir Mumtaz Ali (General Secretary) gave the welcome speech and put forward the objectives of the workshop.

Delivering the Keynote Address, Mr. T. Arif Ali (JIH) addressed the congregation. In his thoughtful speech, he mentioned that the meaning of teacher has changed in the present era as compared to decades ago. Earlier the teacher had information which he used to distribute but in the present era the meaning of education has changed. Distribution, i.e. receiving from the Salaf (ancestors/predecessors) to distribute to the Khalaf (descendents/successors), is not the job of the teacher, but now he is known as the ‘Nation Builder’. Talking about innovative thinking, he mentioned teachers as the source of change. Giving children a chance to think, encouraging them to make decisions and conclusions, improving children’s morals, these are the most important tasks of teachers in the present era. Apart from this, he highlighted the characteristics of the teacher and the role of teachers in solving various social problems of the present day.

For the introduction of the participants, Assistant Director, Ummul Qura Institute, Mr. K Shakir performed and engaged participants in the task of mutual introduction through a practical activity in a very interesting manner.

In the second session, a thought-provoking and informative panel discussion was organized on the topic of Educational Challenges in the 21st Century and way forward by AIITA. The coordinator of the PD was Mukhtar Ahmed Kotwal (Vice President, AIITA & in charge of the workshop). Central Secretaries Dr. Ayatollah Farooq, Aslam Feroze, Media Committee Convenor Faheem Momin, Sharif Khan Pathan (IAC Convener Maharashtra), Sajjadullah (IAC Member UP) and Syed Arif (Vice President AIITA Telangana) participated as panelist. The active participation of the participants in various committees made this panel discussion a great success. In the last session of the day, the participants expressed their views and shared experiences in the training workshop of the three committees. Mr. Shaikh Abdul Rahim (National President AIITA), while expressing his views on this occasion, emphasized the importance of panel discussion and preparation of cadre as resource persons.

The first session of the Second Day (23rd May 2024) started with Tazkeer bil Hadees. Central Secretary Mr. Shakir Hussain, had given a thoughtful talk on Prophetic Pedagogy he expressed the teaching (tarbiyat) style of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through examples and encouraged the teachers to follow the techniques of tarbiyat of the Prophet (PBUH).

Through a hands-on workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Technology integration in Education, Syed Arif Ali (Vice President AIITA Telangana) gave an insightful discussion on the introduction of various AI tools and their use in education. Participants also experienced this in practice. The last speech of the session titled ‘Emotional Intelligence’ by Dr. Hashim Rifai (International Trainer) shared his thoughts on emotions, feelings, control of emotions, sympathy, empathy and various psychological aspects. In the last session of the day, the in-charges of the various committees talked about the expectations of the committees, the participants expressed their feelings about the workshop and Mr. Mir Mumtaz Ali (General Secretary) told the participants about the expectations of the core team.

Mr. Shaikh Abdul Rahim (National President) delivered the Presidential Address and thanked the members for their cooperation and preparations for the workshop. Apart from this, he inspired and motivated the teachers to be courageous, purposeful, sincere in their work and have organizational qualities in his lively talk. Mr. Mukhtar Kotwal, Vice President and Workshop Incharge, thanked the officials of Ummul Qura Institute, especially Assistant Director Shakir K and his assistants. The workshop came to an end after expressing gratitude.
